Autumn days in Yamba are some of my very favourite. Mornings and evenings are cool with perfectly mild day temperatures. This past Saturday was one of those days. The sun was shining and the air was peacefully still.  I arrived at Riverside Ranch to see that much work had been done the day before. The Ceremony and Reception locations were ready to go. The clouds came over and the winds were blowing. In the distance we could see a storm gathering over Yamba. There was a sense of urgency to get this show on the road! All of their loved ones were gathered to witness them making the committment to a lifetime partnership. Umbrellas were underneath seats...just in case. Between the window shaking thunderstorms on Friday night and the drizzling rain all of Sunday, Saturday was a picture perfect Winter’s day in Yamba. We were filled with anticipation leading up to this wedding. Not only was the weather forecast unpredictable, but also Saturday, on their wedding day, would be the first time we would actually meet Emma and Mark. Engagement sessions always bring an element of unknown. What do I do in front of the camera? Where do I look? What should I do with my hands? Should I look at the camera? It is also often the first time we are meeting our couples!  In general, the first fifteen minutes will be awkward. We try to set this as an expectation from the start!
