The clouds came over and the winds were blowing. In the distance we could see a storm gathering over Yamba. There was a sense of urgency to get this show on the road! On Saturday, after months of hard work, Riverside Ranch owners Chris and Fred Welsh welcomed the public to come and see their newest project, The Moondance Saloon. They have lovingly renovated their horse stable to be an all-weather, sound-proof wedding reception venue. Engagement sessions always bring an element of unknown. What do I do in front of the camera? Where do I look? What should I do with my hands? Should I look at the camera? It is also often the first time we are meeting our couples!  In general, the first fifteen minutes will be awkward. We try to set this as an expectation from the start! One of the things we love about photography is that no two sessions are ever the same. That's because no two couples are ever the same! We hadn't met Tahlia and Nathaniel yet and it was so lovely to see them as they approached us from their car with warm smiles and confidence.
