Autumn days in Yamba are some of my very favourite. Mornings and evenings are cool with perfectly mild day temperatures. This past Saturday was one of those days. Engagement sessions always bring an element of unknown. What do I do in front of the camera? Where do I look? What should I do with my hands? Should I look at the camera? It is also often the first time we are meeting our couples!  In general, the first fifteen minutes will be awkward. We try to set this as an expectation from the start! One of the most endearing things about where we live is that it is a beautiful balance of both country and coastal living. Having grown up in Sydney and spending much of my adult life there, this has taken some getting used to...in fact, I am still getting use to it after 5 years! That said, I am thankful to be able to offer this lifestyle to our growing children. I am thankful for our coastline! And I adore the calming hues of the ocean. One of the things we love about photography is that no two sessions are ever the same. That's because no two couples are ever the same! We hadn't met Tahlia and Nathaniel yet and it was so lovely to see them as they approached us from their car with warm smiles and confidence.
